About the Author

Julie is currently a doctoral student in the Department of Educational, School and Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri – Columbia. She received a master’s degree in counseling psychology in May of 2005 and decided to pursue a doctorate in the field of school psychology. As a graduate research assistant at the Center for the Advancement of Mental Health Practices in Schools, Julie is dedicated to increasing the knowledge and skills of school based personnel in the area of mental health. Her ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life for children and families.
