Description: This course provides an overview of ancient Egypt. Students will learn about people from every walk of life—from kings and queens to priests, officials, and slaves. More importantly, students will gain a sense of the power and authority by which ancient Egypt ruled not only Egypt but also much of the Middle East and the Mediterranean for such a long time. Students will learn the historical, social, and cultural significance of each of the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms, and finally, how and why this grand civilization failed.

Gifted: This course is academically challenging. Any student who has an interest in the subject and has met the prerequisites (if any), may enroll.
