Description: Financial literacy is fundamental for a successful future. This course is designed to help students plan financial goals, understand the requirements for reaching a satisfactory standard of living, and establish financial stability. Lessons include setting goals and making decisions, applying for jobs and planning for careers, earning money, preparing a budget, understanding banking services (check writing, saving, and investing), using credit wisely, buying insurance, purchasing a car, making wise consumer decisions, living on one's own, and planning for retirement. This course fulfills the personal finance course requirements set by the State of Missouri.
Special Instructions: Students will be required to upload documents in Word 97–2003 (.doc) or Rich Text (.rtf) format. These documents can be created in Microsoft Word or another office suite that saves in the .doc or .rtf format, such as the open-source OpenOffice or Google Docs online.
