Description: This course introduces students to the basics of Latin vocabulary and grammar and discusses aspects of the history and culture of ancient Romans. It is designed to help students understand English better and make it easier for them to learn other foreign languages that are descended from Latin.Gifted: This course is academically challenging. Any student who has an interest in the subject and has met the prerequisites (if any), may enroll.
Special Instructions: Enrollment begins the first business day of May; course starts August 31, 2009. Class size is limited.
Students must have an email acccount to enroll and agree to participate in online discussions. The course content
will be viewable two weeks prior to the start date. Enrollment in the spring semester of this course, which starts in Janaury, begins the first business day of October.
Note: Semester courses follow a specific calendar, and the normal 9-month
completion policy does not apply to these courses. Therefore, students who have not completed all work by the due
date for the course final (listed on the course calendar) will automatically be withdrawn from the course.
