Financial Aid
Many of our students use financial aid to enroll in their courses. If you are using financial aid, you need to be aware that many financial aid loan programs require students to be enrolled every major semester in order to defer their loans until they are finished. If you are planning on taking the full 9 months for your enrollments then you may run up against problems with your loans going into repayment.
Our program is different than regular campus courses where there is a set deadline when you will be finished with your courses each semester. Our courses may run over two or even three semesters if you take the full amount of time. This may cause concern from students who are worried about their loans going into repayment. Courses only count in the semester for which you enrolled. The university system that records your enrollments will not see you as an enrolled student unless you enroll for the current semester.
If a loan program requires that you enroll every major semester (fall and spring) to keep deferring your loans, then we can help you create a schedule for completion that will make sure that you are completing your courses well in advance of the 9-month deadline so you can enroll again. Please contact our office onckene@missouri.edu or 573-882-9596 and we can help you create a completion schedule that fits your needs.
How to Contact your Financial Aid Adviser
The financial aid office has recently assigned new advisers to MU students and put in place a new system for determining your financial aid adviser. If you are using financial aid to enroll, you will now need to check the website below and contact your adviser according to the first letter of your last name.
